THIS Morning viewers were left gobsmacked today as Alison Hammond appeared slimmer than ever.

The 47-year-old returned to host alongside Dermot O’Leary after the summer break and looked incredible in a leopard print blazer with sleek hair and glam make-up.

Taking to Twitter to discuss her appearance, one fan wrote: “Alison looks amazing.”

A second added: “Alison looks good lost so much weight 👍.”

While a third commented: “What a breath of fresh air Alison is. Looking gorgeous today too.”

Earlier this year, Alison - who has been nominated for a NTA - broke down in tears as she discussed her weight live on This Morning in response to someone phoning in about their own body issues.

She sobbed: "It's so hard, people don't realise. When you're big, people think you're lazy."

She said: "I've had obesity all my life. What it is is, your regulation system is out of whack. You can't control wanting to eat all the time.

"A lot of people don't realise - obesity is a disease. You can't help it."

The star later admitted she has accepted she might die earlier, but insisted she was happy.

"Sometimes I look at myself and go, 'Wow, I am a big girl'. But I like taking up a bit of space.

"I take a little bit of extra space in the world and I don't think I'm hurting anyone."

She added on Lorraine Kelly’s podcast: "We're all going to die eventually. I might die a little bit sooner, but I'm going to live my life to the fullest.

"And if I do die sooner, I'm going to have a fantastic life. I'm going to have a wonderful life. I'm 47 now, I don't know how long I'm going to go on for."

Alison shot to fame when she competed in the third series of then-Channel 4 reality show Big Brother in 2002, and she went on to land a job as a reporter on This Morning in 2003.
